Airflow
What is Airflow and how it helps to remove discolouration and stains?

Stains and discolouration are caused by drinking wine, black coffee, tea, and smoking. Airflow gently removes stains and discolouration without damaging enamel and is superior to routinely used rubber cups and polishing discs.

How does Airflow work?
Airflow uses air, fine powder particles and a controlled jet of air to remove all the stains and discolouration. It also removes plaque and soft deposits and reaches deep periodontal pockets.
Can Airflow be used around restorations like Implants?
Airflow polishing can be safely used around dental implants, veneers, crowns and bridges.
Is Airflow painful?
Airflow is very fast, effective, non-invasive and painless. Heat or vibration is not generated with this technique and therefore it improves patient comfort.

Areas between the teeth which are normally hard to clean can be cleaned very efficiently with airflow without scrapping the enamel.

Is it ideal for sensitive teeth?
For patients who suffer from sensitivity, treatment with airflow is ideal as it does not contact the teeth directly and is less abrasive. During the usage of airflow, the microparticles present in the powder can fill the exposed canals in the dentin and thereby reduces sensitivity.  Airflow can also be used to clean small cavities without drilling the tooth.
How long does cleaning with Airflow take?
Airflow is faster and requires less chair time. It is shown that airflow removes stains and plaque 3 times faster than traditionally used methods and it is less abrasive as well.
How can it help with bonding?

Airflow does not contain glycerine which is present in the traditional polishing pastes which can interfere with bonding. Therefore, it can be very useful before bonding the orthodontic brackets.

Can Airflow remove stains and discolouration?

Airflow can remove stains which are caused by smoking, drinking tea, coffee and red wine and whitens the teeth without damaging the enamel.

Can Airflow remove plaque?

Airflow is very efficient in removing plaque and it can also disrupt biofilm which harbours numerous bacteria. Airflow also can be used to clean up to 5mm pocket.
